I feel so flattered when posting to Twitter that so many people have asked what I am up to on my leave this week. Either people are incredibly nosey, or genuinely take an interest in me, my tweetings and my ramblings. - Do not shatter my illusion, I'm sold on the latter ;-)
I elected to work Monday - As a rule it Always happens on a Monday. Monday is drama day at work, there is always something that needs sorting, manning issues, stuff like that. I finished @ 1700 Monday with an empty inbox and a clear desk! Today, Tuesday was my first day off, and after a lie in, and lazy breakfast we delivered home No 2's friend who stayed the night, en route to The Deep.
Complimentary free tickets won in the school raffle made this a cheap day out! We've been before but as it is only an hour and a bit away (And Free!) it was worth a trip out! It kept the kids entertained, and there is something quite mystifying and soothing looking at all the fishes, big and small in a huge sub-marium.
So - That was what was, now....for the rest of the week:
Wednesday
Skip run in the morning. You know all that stuff you pile into the shed, and forget about? Well, tomorrow is the day! It's going!
PM Sees more fun - I'm going out with the "TopCats" - That's Top Caterers to you! A group of eleven of us at work, that keep the other 165 in check! A Midweek managers afternoon out. Historic Lincoln is the order of the day, visiting the Cathedral quarter, encompassing the Cathedral, Castle, Bishops Palace, Roman walls and literally hundreds of years of rich history.... Oh and 11 Pubs ;-) I'm looking forward to learning a lot!
Thursday
Slow lazy morning hopefully! Roast beef dinner for 9 to prepare. We have friends coming to stay, You may feel like you know them... See You're Celtic, United. The Johnston family are coming to stay! Funny word, Family - -These are the guys that are #SoooFamilyButNotRelated it's untrue! Not seen them since New Year, so it will be great to catch up, the kids are all like brothers & sisters, which helps, so us grown ups can chat and drink the night away, leading into....
Friday
I have it all planned don't I? I like planning! Cooked breakfast x 9 should start the day off right, then I will propose another trip around uphill Lincoln- Our friends used to live here you see, and they are just in love with historic Lincoln. I will try and coerce them into eating out, nothing flash, maybe Yo-Yo's or something. We will have 5 kids with us afterall! but it should round the day off a treat! Assuming I'm not barred from one of Wednesdays pubs, I dare say they might get a visit too! Back home for relaxing.
Saturday
The Johnston's here until mid day I would imagine, operation clean-up to commence shortly after. I hate the feeling when friends leave, even with us 5 in the house, it feels so empty when they go :-(
Sunday
Where does the time go!!! I am not planning for Sunday. A day of rest hopefully! Last day off before back to work, school etc etc so mundane taskings to follow! I shall not be so sad as to blog about packed lunches, shoe polishing and timetable dictated bag packing!..... Unless you ask me to!!!
